How to cook a McDonald's Big Mac but BETTER!

This recipe is easy to make at home and you'll be surprised how tasty it is compared to a McDonald’s Big Mac.

One of the best elements is the Big Mac sauce, you’ll find the recipe in the video and it tastes amazing!

Ingredients

  • Burger Rolls

  • Diced Beef Chuck

  • Diced Bacon

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • ½ cup of whole egg mayonnaise

  • 1 Tbsp sweet relish

  • ½ Tbsp American mustard

  • ½ Tbsp white wine vinegar

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp sweet paprika

  • Onion

  • Crispy Lettuce

  • Pickles

  • Cheese Slices

Step 1: Will it Blend?

It will!

Set up a mincer or food processor.

Add diced beef chuck

Diced bacon

Season with salt and pepper

I can’t stress enough how much better your burger will be if you make them from scratch.

Step 2: Mince that Meat

Pulse the food processor to begin with to cut the larger pieces of meat.

Continue to pulse until the meat is minced, if you’re in the US minced meat is called ground.

I like my burgers to have a fat ratio of 70% meat to 30% fat, this will give you juicy, tender burgers.

Step 3: Mould your Patties

Now the meat is minced.

Take the mince a handful at a time and mould into equal sized balls, flattening to make the patties.

These are thick but just before placing them on the grill I will flatten them out some more.

Step 4: Saucy!

Now we make the Big Mac style sauce.

In a bowl add:

½ cup of whole egg mayonnaise

1 Tbsp sweet relish

½ Tbsp American mustard

½ Tbsp white wine vinegar

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp sweet paprika

Mix together and set aside.

Step 5: No tears, please.

Dice one onion.

Then slice a hand full of crisp iceberg lettuce into strips.

Cut your burger bun into thirds.

Step 6: Fire up the Barbie

Step 7: Cook those Patties

We are going to cook these burgers for 2 to 3 minutes on each side.

Flip the burgers, once the first side has a nice sear.

Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, also don’t forget to toast the bun!

Step 8: Burgers have Layers

Spoon on a layer of our Big Mac sauce.

Follow with a layer of the diced onions

Then a layer of the iceberg lettuce.

On the middle bun, add a layer of pickles.

On the bottom layer a slice of America cheese.

Finally, place your burgers on each bun.

Step 9: Dig in

Put it all together, serve and enjoy!
